Celebrate Cultural Diversity at Murch on May 5
International Night is a Murch tradition. In previous years countries represented have included Brazil, Canada, England, Georgia, India, Ireland, Israel, Italy, Jamaica, Mexico, Netherlands, New Zealand, Paraguay, Senegal, Swaziland, Russia, and Vietnam.
At the event, students sing international songs and afterward families go around to the displays of the different countries stamping their "passports" at each stop while learning and enjoying the traditions of each place. Please join us and share your family's cultural background with food, art, dress, and music.
This year we would love to have others join in on our performance section of singing and dancing, so please let us know if you're interested.
The More the Merrier

Ways to get involved
1. Be the lead person for a particular region/culture. This person would ideally be in charge of organizing the table including food set up and the displaying of any art work or information. This person would also be in charge of contacting all of the other participants or donors of goods and coordinating with them regarding the specifics.
2. Provide food or information for a table. You may show pictures, maps, books, clothes, flags etc...and answer any questions that visitors have. You can cook or buy a traditional dish from your country and must be willing to serve it at your table. We strongly recommend serving food that can be kept at room temprature. If food must be kept either hot or cold, you must provide a way to keep it that way so that all food safety requirements are met and maintained.
3. Donate plates, cups, cutlery, napkins, or drinks.
4. Table set up/event clean up.
5. Perform a song or dance that celebrates your family's culture.
