Doing Good by Jumping Rope
Jump Rope for Heart, which takes place in June in conjunction with Murch Sports Day, is a great way for your child to get active and make a difference by raising funds for the American Heart Association. In 2009, Murch Elementary raised the most money for this important cause and second-grader Ethan Byles received a plaque for raising the most money in the District.
In the spring you can register your child online through the American Heart Association’s website, where you can even build a webpage to keep track of your donors.
Once your child’s AHA Jump Rope for Heart webpage is complete, you simply click the email link to send your personal page to friends and family. As donors support this important cause, your child will earn thank-you prizes at incremental donation levels. Checks are optional, but collecting online donations using the Jump Rope for Heart website is the simplest and easiest way to manage requests, receive donations, and watch your progress add up.
