Student Council Meeting Minutes

The Student Council serves as a voice for students in establishing and advocating on Murch policies, sponsors fundraising events such as bake sales and Murch tee-shirt sales, and supports service to the school and larger community. School-wide elections for officers for the following academic year are held in June. In the fall, each class in grades 2 through 5 elects a representative and an alternate to the councill.  This e-mail address is being protected from spambots. Highlights of 2009-2010 Student Council

As we head off for summer, here’s a recap of the council’s many accomplishments this school year:
    • Sponsored a highly successful turkey drive in November to ensure others would not go without during the Thanksgiving holiday.
    • Surveyed the school to determine specific ways to improve the school store, which will back next year, better than ever.
    • Joined forces with the Peer Mediators to raise more than $3,000 in the "Help Murch Help Haiti" campaign. (Thank you again to the Murch community for its generosity.)
    • Held the Second Annual Student Council Lip Sync concert. Besides being a fun evening, the event raised money for Haiti.

Thank you to the outgoing Student Council officers and classroom representatives for all of their hard work and dedication!
