Murch HSA 2008-2009 committees

In addition, the HSA raises money through a variety of activities, which helpds provide for such things as stipends for faculty to use for classroom supplies, resources materials (music, art, library, and PE), playground and office equipment, and the Directory. The HSA Executive Committee is comprised of some members who are elected annually by the parent body, a Teacher Representative elected by the teachers, the Principal, the immediate past president, and four appointed committee members. The HSA meets a minimum of four times per year, but usually monthly, with all forums announced in the newsletter. All parents and teachers are invited to attend. Suggestions for agenda items, or floor time, should be addressed to the HSA at least one week prior to any meeting. Meeting dates and agendas will be posted on the page. Book Fair: The book fair is held the last week in November. All books are new and excellent quality. Parents are welcome any time the fair is open, but there is always at least one evening when the Fair is open specially for parents to do holiday shopping. The Book Fair allows parents to purchase books for their child’s classroom and the school library too. Twenty five percent of the proceeds go to HSA in support of the school. Auction: The most anticipated event by Murch parents, this is a fun “grown-up” party with good food, drink, entertainment, great company and lots of items available in both silent and live auctions. The auction is usually held on a Saturday night in Spring, at a glamorous, off-site location. Other: Other fundraising events may be held throughout the year. Parent suggestions are always welcome.
